Advent Day 17: Unexpected

It can be frustrating when things don’t go the way we expect them to go.

And I’m not arguing that every minor annoyance from things getting off track is a divine gift… BUT…

I’m just saying that the unexpected can be, or at least has the potential to be, a great gift.

The people expected a king, but got a carpenter.

They expected a warrior, but got a wounded healer.

They expected a pundit, but they got a prophet.

They had all of these ideas about the messiah, but Jesus didn’t do things the way people expected.
