Advent Day 9: Vulnerable

The story of Advent is one of vulnerability.

The Divine comes to us, not in power, and not on a throne, but as a baby in the night in an old tumbledown stable.

What could be more vulnerable than a baby?

Jesus centered your needs and appeared in vulnerability because of love.

In the midst of your mess, he loves you.

And his love for you made him vulnerable.

In the end, it made him killable.

Love makes us vulnerable.

Advent invites us into the story of vulnerability, into the story of love.

Will you love others even if it may hurt?

What would it look like to be vulnerable and put someone else’s needs ahead of your own?

Even if they didn’t appreciate it. Even if they didn’t love you back?
