Advent Day 21: Infant King

If I were a god, I’m fairly certain that I wouldn’t act anything like the character at the center of the Advent story.

He enters the scene and displays not his power, not his benevolence, not his wisdom, but his meekness and vulnerability.

The Almighty became helpless.

Became reliant.

Became killable.

And this causes me to wonder.

Hear Advent invite you into wonder. Wonder at the baby in a manger— the king who had no place at the inn. Wonder at the vulnerability of an infant king.

And be comforted in your own vulnerability and weakness. Those traits are valuable in the economy of the cosmos.
