Advent Day 22: Wounded Healer

A prophet of Israel wrote about the divine, “but he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

The divine uses wounds to make people well.

The story of Advent is about the arrival of the one who would become the wounded healer.

That means something for our wounds.

That our wounds aren’t things to be ashamed of.

That they are valuable, somehow beautiful, in the economy of the cosmos.

That they are redeemable.

May your wounds be made well, and having been made well, be the catalyst for others wounds to be made well too.
